Masala Makhana

Masala makhana also know as spiced fox nuts. It make healthy and fulfilling snack . First time, I  also try this snack it feel so good. Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Makhana (Fox nuts)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder, adjusting the quantity to suit your taste preferences.
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon amchur (dry mango powder)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1.Roasting the Makhana :-

  • Preheat a non-stick pan or kadhai over medium heat.
  • Add the makhana and dry roast them for 5-7 minutes or until they become crispy. Keep stirring continuously to ensure even roasting.
  • Once done, transfer the roasted makhana to a plate and set aside.

2.Preparing the Masala:

  • In the same pan, add ghee. Allow it to melt.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Lower the heat and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and amchur. Mix well to form a paste.

3.Coating the Makhana:

  • Add the roasted makhana to the pan and toss them well, ensuring the masala coats the fox nuts evenly.
  • Continue to roast on low heat for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse

4.Seasoning and Garnish:

  • Sprinkle salt over the masala-coated makhana and mix thoroughly.
  • Turn off the heat and let the masala makhana cool down.

5.Garnish and Serve:

  • Once cooled, transfer the masala makhana to a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves for added freshness (optional).

6.Store or Enjoy:

  • Allow the masala makhana to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
  • Enjoy this crunchy and flavorful snack whenever you crave a healthy treat.
